3rd Prize Nationally
P.A. College graduate Anna Vasiliou (BSc Business Computing, 2016) is awarded the 3rd Prize nationally for the final year dissertation project submitted to the competition «Φοιτητές στην Έρευνα - ΦΟΙΤΩ 2016» of the Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation, in the Undergraduate Projects category.
The research project is entitled: “Learning Through Play; an Online Touch-Based Games Application for Intellectually Challenged Children”. The research explores the challenges intellectually challenged children face and examines ways to help them in terms of their development, using technology. Following a review of available literature as well as gathering primary data from special educators, the effects of games in education were investigated. Based on the research outcomes, a new, interactive, touch-based games platform was developed. The games platform incorporates three games: memory, general knowledge and mathematics.
The Awarding Ceremony will take place at the event «Βραδιά του Ερευνητή», on Friday, 30th September 2016, at Filoxenia Conference Centre, Nicosia.
